Online Territory Manager Database System
This system comes in two (2) parts! The "Harvester" program you download and install on your computer. This will gather all the names and data you'll need to install into the 2nd Program " Online Territory Manager" (OTM) . The OTM is NOT installed on your computer, thus allowing you to access from any computer or hand-held mobile device such as an Android or Apple iPad, iPhone, or iPod Touch. There will be a login and password to access the mobile feature (Demo) in the email sent to you with the address of this website.
Frequently Asked QuestionsQuestion: What are some of the features of this Database?Answer: It is a web based system so you could say it is in the “cloud”. It works like Microsoft MapPoint in that you can draw out the territory boundaries and have the system auto-assign the addresses to that territory. Once you have all your territories drawn out the maintenance on the system is minimal. There are help videos and pdf files to help get you started.
Question: Where do the Addresses come from?
Answer: It's called The "Harvester"! This is a program you install on your computer. Run it and give it a list of Chinese last names to search for in a given city or for your whole
state and it will do the work of searching superpages.com for you and download the results. It has it's own website associated with it as well. There you will be able to download the latest update of the Harvester program as well as 3 Harvester programs. 1) Chinese Last names search. 2) Harvests names of businesses. 3) Harvests first names, so using ethnic specific first names can be searched for.
Question: Will "Harvester" work on a "Mac"?
Answer: Harvester will work on a mac running windows in VM ware or something like that.
Question: What other languages does it work with?
Answer: If you are talking about the harvester program, the answer is; You can upload any name list that is in roman characters. Chinese characters will not work neither will
special fonts since the superpages website doesn’t support that.
Answer: If you are talking about the onlineterritorymanager.com (OTM) then yes any foreign language group/congregation can use the system. Currently there are over 250 congregations / groups that use OTM in US and Canada in several different languages.
Question: How much does this cost?
Answer: No there is no charge to use the system. Some have asked if they can donate to help with the cost of hosting the system therefore there is a donation page.
Question: What about "Do Not Calls"... the direction from the organization says we need to check on them every year to see if they would still like to remain on the "DNC" list, or if they have moved away and thus allowing for that address to be cleared... Can we access that information ourselves?
Answer: When you check in a territory you can mark addresses as a DNC. They will stay in the territory and will be flagged as a DNC. You can do a custom search for DNC’s also and create a Custom Territory of just DNC’s so that you can work them once a year. You can work off the Last Worked Date to know if it has been a year.
Question: Is this system designed so as to allow for all the brothers and sisters to check out their own territory and not have the need for the territory servant do so?
Answer: Yes it is designed to allow that. The developer is a COBE, Territory Servant, and TMS Overseer. He had no time to keep up with the territories. Plus he wanted to make sure friends in far away territories could check out territory without having to come to him. Or if he was on vacation he didn’t want to have to worry about it. Plus some of the friends chicken scratches he couldn’t read. That is why OTM was born. However many congregations use it just for the management of the territories and they print out all the territories into a book and use the Territory check Out Report to print forms for check in / check out like the forms the branch provides.
Some congregations are pretty computer savvy. Therefore, they allow all the publishers the ability to check out their own territories. However there are still a few that don’t use a computer, so the Territory Servant(s) can check out a territory for them and assign it to them and give it to them. Other congregations only allow the Field Service Group Overseer / Assistant have the ability to check out territories. There are options to switch on and off to custom set up how your Congregation / Group wants to handle things.
Question: Are there levels or restrictions to access of the Territories?
Answer: There are Four (4) user levels. Group Admin, Publisher,General, and Read Only!.
Group Admin; allows total control and set up features. Also allows him to set limits as to how many territories an individual can work and what territories that would be available to work. He can also assign brothers and sisters to work certain territories by creating a campaign and make the campaign active. Then only the territories in the campaign will be available for check out. You can even tag the calls that are confirmed a being your language, so that when you are doing a Memorial or District Convention invitation campaign, you can work those first.
Publisher; is a login for those that you don’t want to check out territory. They can only view what territories are available. Then if they want a territory they can let the
territory servant know and he can check it out for them and assign it to them. then it will be in their "My Territory" folder. They can then print it out and check it back in when they are done. This gives the territory servant more control of what is worked.
General; gives ability to check out their own territories. Also gives them access to the Return Visit and BBS (Bible Studies) folder. (See Videos and PDF file Links)
Read Only; allows someone to submit a new address to you and search the database to see if the address exists already. that is it. It was designed to be a way for other congregations to see if you have an address in the system before they send you the please follow up slip. For example I created a general San Diego user and login and I sent a letter to all the secretaries in the San Diego area so that they can login and see if they need to send us a please follow up slip. They can either then mail us the slip or enter it in the system. that address will go in the new address folder waiting to be assigned.

Online Territory Manager Tech Questions
We have a database file we are going to save as a CSV so we can upload to the system. One of our fields was used to tag each record as to what language it was. The field follows the "Zip Code" field. Will this file load OK?
Answer: Yes you can upload that fine. As long as it is a csv file. On the second screen after you upload the file it will ask you what each of the columns are and you can match up each one.Question:
What does "ANF" mean?Answer:
Address Not Found! If you mark an address ANF, Moved, Vacant, etc then it remains in the database. If you import new addresses then the new address will be removed as the duplicate. Unless you can find out where they moved to, delete the addresses from the database so that in the future the address will be added again if I do another import. The only ones I don’t delete are the ANF’s if I can’t fix the address. This is so I don’t keep importing the same old bad address.Question:
Is there a way to eliminate records that are not in our territory boundaries by using a list of "Zip Codes" to be deleted after we import a new CSV file? I'm doing this manually by looking around our territory boundaries using the density mapping program,
identifying the zip codes not in our territory, and then deleting the zips one by one.Answer:
If you have mapped out your territories then any addresses left over in the “New Address Territory” will be those that don’t belong. Then you can just delete any addresses left over in the “NA-New Address” territory. You can select this territory in the custom
territory screen or the Admin->Territory Admin->Address Search screen. It is the same screen.Question:
Who do I contact to get started?
Just drop him a message and tell him what you need.
Remember to ask him to set up your OTM for your Congregation, Group, or Pre-Group. And also set you up with the "Harvester" program that will also require a login and password to download your programs.
I am just a Brother from a Chinese Congregation that started using this system and found it a joy to work with and it makes your assignment a whole lot easier. The plasticity and ability to add extensive notes, makes it so unique. You got to check it out.
The reason why I'm setting up this website is to spread the news about this system and that it allows you to communicate with other language groups and congregations, of different languages to send them interests you find in service. How can you really communicate the need and urgency for the truth without knowing what it means in a language not your own... Priceless.
(Matthew 24:14) . . .And this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
